Yesterday I was feeling like SUPER MOM!!!! I was determined to have an outing with BOTH Cale and Keegyn that didn't involve Target, Cub, or the drive-thru at Caribou! So, I put my game face on and we headed out to Nickolodeon Park at the MOA. Yes, some might say that I had lost my mind to have gone there with both of them, ALONE, but to quote a friend -"at least one isn't mobile."
Gettin ready for the big OUTING!!! Right before Cale asked me if I had "alot of money this time" (apparently he wasn't happy the last time we went and still remembers me telling him that I had no more money---man, this kid remembers EVERYTHING!!!)We started the day with a trip to the fountain so Cale could make a wish. Although he just really didn't comprehend the idea behind it, as he just kept tossing my hard earned money into the water like it was some sort of game with a prize at the end!!!!
Being that we also had Keegyn to consider, Cale was on his own for rides this time. There were only about 4-5 rides that he could actually go on by himself for his height, but most of them were under construction (looks like they're putting some new rides in) so he was actually only able to go on 2 rides. This didn't seem to phase him in the slightest though....he could have ridden on these trucks till the cows came home. Must have gone on them at least 8-10 times...and each time he went on he had to ride in a different color. He cried the first time the ride ended, saying it wasn't long enough. But once I told him he could go back on as many times as he wanted, his face lit up like a christmas tree! And let me tell you, he was none too pleased when they closed the ride for 30min so the girl running it could actually go get a bite to eat!

HONK HONK!!!

During our brief intermission of riding, we made a stop at LegoLand where Cale proceeded to build a city....

...and race some cars....

Then it was off to the city bus for a tour!

All that activity made my little man HUNGRY, HUNGRY, HUNGRY!!! Cale has always loved himself a good corn dog!

Washed down with a little juice...and we're back at it....

The story behind this picture is what cracks me up. Cale was none too pleased that he actually had to ride this train with other people! He much preferred the trucks where he was in control! I felt so bad for the little boy sitting across from Cale cuz he kept saying "hi" to him and trying to talk to him and Cale's response.......turning his head to look out the back of the train. Really??? Not the way to make friends there, Cale!!!

And Keegyn, just along for the ride!!!!

All in all, it was a good day.....Keegyn was so laid back and just enjoyed the scenery! I will admit, that by the end of the day I was completely and utterly exhausted. Yesterday was the first time that I was wishing Cale was NOT potty trained.....cuz MAN, that boy had to pee, and pee, and pee, and pee!!!! I had to keep telling myself to stay calm and bring him back to the bathroom, smiling and excited, even if we had just been there 15min prior.....cuz let me tell you, there were a few times where I just wanted to say "screw it Cale, go in your pants!!"

Cale really loves his little sister. It's actually very sweet....she's the first thing he asks about every morning when he gets up and can't wait to go and see her. But poor little Keegyn....she really has endured quite a bit of poking, prodding, pulling, nudging, and toppling since she arrived! As I've said a million times already, she's lucky to still be alive!!!!
This is just a taste of what Keegyn goes through on a daily basis....and multiple times on a daily basis, I might add!!!
So, yes, at first, this looks quite innocent. Very peaceful and serene. Yes, very good..........then, it turns into "in your face" time....with Cale desperately trying to make her laugh (cuz he just couldn't be MORE excited than when HE's the one to make her laugh) until she actually starts crying from overstimulation......
....next comes the poking/prodding of fingers to her face with multiple attempts from myself for him to "be gentle!"

Keegyn has adapted quite well to her brother....at this particular moment in time...it appears she just couldn't care less!!!!

For as much as Cale's closet is loaded with BLUE, Keegyn's is overflowing with PINK!!!! And I'm not sick of it at all!!!
Keegyn and I have enjoyed playing dress-up over the course of her short little life...especially the last few days when we decided the heck with the cold weather, we were still gonna wear our dresses!!!!!
So.....
Here's my baby, all PRETTY IN PINK!!!!Thanks, Farrah, for my little dress! I just look Mawvelous!!!!! Don't I???!!!

My days at home are quickly dwindling.....only about 2 and a half weeks to go. Yet, I'm still amazed at how much Keegyn has accomplished in this short period of time....and yes, I'm about to brag!
So...here's my short list of my baby girl's finer moments:
1)Has only been getting mommy up ONCE a nite since about 4-5wks of age
2)Started blessing us with her quirky smile since 5wks
3)Started to hold head up/sit in bumbo since about 6wks
4)Found her thumb about the same time...uses it occassionally for comfort
5)Took her official first steps while being held under her arms at about 8wks (and for those of you who don't believe me, I've got video to prove it!)
6)Can go from sit to stand position if being held by hands/arms since 8-9wks
7)Has managed to stay alive despite falling prey to the hands of Cale
8)Eats like a champ
9)Poops like a champ
10)And most importantly....SHOPS like a champ!!!!
Baby Blue Eyes
Just another day at home....but might as well dress up for the occassion!
Showing off her little buddha belly!!! Yep, that belly is starting to come around!

My little man, who desperately needs a haircut but keeps refuting by saying "that's not fun though." (That phrase keeps coming up more and more....)

Here's lookin' at you....

Awwwww!!!!!

There's that thumb!

The last few pics, Keegyn is getting a feel for the Einstein Exersaucer.....and I just thought her facial expressions in each one were priceless...
"Hello, Mr Sun"

"What are you staring at???"

"OK, you can stop staring at me now!!!"

Cale is finally graduating to a "big boy" bed....this is the one we all decided on...and by "we", I mean "me", of course!!! I've had my eye on this one for about 5 months now and we finally got a deal on it that we just couldnt pass up! You know how Jason likes to save money and get the BEST possible deal, so I played my cards right and went in for the kill!! We walked out of the store proud new owners of this cute little bed and matching dresser in about 15min flat! (That's a new record for me!) So after we introduced Cale to his new bed buddy, he got pretty excited about bringing it home! We'll finally be transitioning our little man to his "big boy" room over the next few months...and hopefully by his 3rd birthday he'll be our "little man!"

You might wonder what we've been up to since the last posting.......well, the answer is......TAKING PICTURES......OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!
Each day that goes by, Keegyn is losing more and more of her hair. She's got a ring going around the entirety of her head that is almost completely bald...but then it picks up again just below the ring to look like almost some kind of new-wave mullet! Needless to say, despite the hair woes (and I hate to admit it, but I think Keegyn ended up with Buchar hair), she continues to be as cute as ever and continues to brighten our days with her quirky smiles!Finishing up with her bath....kinda cold and not really into the picture (can't blame her for that one!)
My little man, on the other hand, was all ready for his "updated" bathtime photo....it's been probably almost a year since we snapped a bath photo of Cale. And he still enjoys his bathtime with Daddy everynite...even with the mini-meltdown prior to each one, saying "That's not fun though" (between sobs and fake tears). We tend to hear this phrase alot....especially prior to bedtime, getting dressed, and brushing his teeth!!!

Little Miss Sassy Pants (as I call her in this outfit!)

Cale, looking adorable....Keegyn looking rather annoyed at the whole idea of yet another picture with her brother. Probably scared for her life....wondering if this will end in another face plant to the floor! Thank God, the answer was NO!!!
Then, we were off and on our way to see Kate and Kirk's new home and have some dinner and ADULT conversation (with pizza and beer besides!) And Cale was excited to see Brady...they haven't seen each other since the fair this summer, so Cale was ready for some playtime!

It took Cale about 10 minutes to get warmed up to Brady...it took Brady no time at all to warm up to Cale! Don't know why Cale does that! Anyways, Cale brought all his CARS cars -- and they had a blast crashing them into each other and racing them on the wood floors!

Getting ready for the race....

Taking a break from playing to eat some cookies for dessert! And they both sat so well at the BIG BOY table! (You would never guess it, but Brady is only 6mo younger than Cale--Cale looks like Andre the Giant next to him!) But to quote Jason yet again "That's my boy!!!"

So cute....they were tickling and hugging and chasing each other for awhile......

.....then came the chest bumping from Brady.....(only Kirk's boy would know how to chest bump!) Cale was slightly confused by this and didn't really know what had happened!!.....

....but after the chest bump, Cale resorted to his own measures of self defense....the tried and true all out TACKLE!!! ("That's my boy!")

You would never quess that the vaccuum is running two feet from her would you?

Last, but not least, we'll end this post with another sweet smile from our sweet, sweet baby girl!
