Potty training looks like it really isn't around the corner anytime soon at the Thompson household....seeing as we STILL struggle nightly with getting Cale interested in brushing his teeth. This was Jason's night to battle it out....
So, typical night of brushing teeth goes as such...
Mommy or Daddy politely demonstrating to Cale just exactly HOW he is to brush (not to mention how simple it really is)
Cale looking totally disinterested while "parent" tries as hard as he/she can to get the back teeth as Cale is clenching down on the toothbrush
"Oh look, a little magnifying glass attached to my nail clipper....this is fun to look at! " Meanwhile, daddy struggling still to finish up those back teeth...

"And oh, my belly button...has this always been there?" By this time, daddy is growing more frustrated and wishes this task could be done...

SCORE!!!! And he's done it folks! With the help of dad's one-on-one instruction, Cale finally takes the captain's seat and brushes ONLY his two front teeth. And just when we think we've finally made it....we start from square one the following night! Need I say more about why I'm giving up on potty training right now??!!??

MY BOYS!!!!!
The rough housing is a constant at our house these days....weekends especially! Cale and daddy love their "quality" wrestling matches. And thank God they do, cuz I refuse to play that game with Cale anymore...he can really pack a punch!!!

Cale...tackling daddy to the ground from a full out sprint...

And he's down!!!!

Jumping on daddy....(no longer allowed to do this to mommy anymore either...even before baby in belly!)

Cale has found that is best defense against getting the infamous "tickle torture" is to either sit on daddy's head or stick his feet in daddy's face.
Like I said...Thank God my boys have each other!

ALL PLAY....NO WORK!!!
Dear Grandma and Grandpa B,
Thank you sooooooooooooooo much for my sand table. I just can't seem to get enough of it! The crane is the best part of it all. The water side is really cool too, but mommy doesn't put water in it very much cuz she says I make too much of a mess that she doesn't want to clean up. I'm thinkin' "what do you expect mom, I'm only 2!"

Cale recently discovered how to use the hose "all by myself." And he's also figured out that if he sprays water on this big tree at just the perfect time of day (whenever the sun is out) he can make a rainbow!!!!!!

He's also perfected it with only one hand!

We took a trip up to Gina's house the other day and had a blast! Normally, Gina and I meet somewhere for lunch, but we never end up actually talking to one another cuz we're so busy minding the kiddos. This worked out much better, we got to hang out and the kids got to hang out....it was a win win situation and everyone was happy!
Adorable baby Mya!!!!!

Oh Avery....what a good sport she was. All Cale wanted to do was play cars, cars, cars. She tried as hard as she could to get Cale to play dress-up with all her pretty princess costumes, but he really wasn't having it. Avery said she wanted to be Tinkerbell for Halloween and thought Cale should be some sort of princess too. So we asked him, "Cale do you want to be a princess for Halloween, like Avery?" His response: "Maybe a BOY princess!"
(His father would be proud!)

MINNESOTA STATE FAIR!!!!!!!!!!
We headed out to the state fair once again this year, figuring we'd get a lot more out of it being that Cale would be one year older, but as it turns out, we barely did anything while we were there! Funny how you can waste about 5 hours really doing nothing! We had a fun time though...we met up with our friends Kate and Kirk and their little guy, Brady. Cale and Brady hadn't seen one another for quite some time, but they got reaquainted on the rides! We actually didn't eat very much either, but from the pictures you wouldn't know!
Cale's first fair food this year......the Pronto Pup!!!!
Second on the agenda....fresh, ice cold lemonade....with a REALLY BIG lemon!!!!
Digging through all the balloons at the "toy store." Big mistake Mom made suggesting we go look at all the balloons and then suggesting we leave WITHOUT buying one.....Big Mistake.....

THIRD......the roasted corn (a favorite from last year)

"GOOD"

Cale and his buddy Brady driving the big ole race car. Look at that laid back, criss cross action that Cale is sportin' at the wheel~

Two cutie pies!

Can't get enough of these two!

Last, but certainly not least, the merry-go-round. You know we rode that one a few times!
