We have been very busy around here lately. With the weather being so beautiful, we just can't get enough of the outdoors! Even if it means helping Dad trim around the shrubs! Cale was so excited to help Jason get busy tackling the shrub trimming! Here he is...all ready to help...so proud!Getting a little lesson....pre shrub-trimming.....so as not to trim too much!
Cale much rather preferred throwing the "weeds" over the fence to our neighbors' yard...and Jason adds.."Good, that's where they came from anyway!"
(if you look hard enough you can see the little weed in Cale's fingers!)
Cale's task was to rake the shrub trimmings/weeds away from the shrubs...into the nearest garbage bag.
By the looks of the jungle in the background, they have a LONG way to go!
Time for a break! And they were only on shrub number TWO!!!

Always willing to take a photo with mommy!

Other exciting news....Keegyn now has moved on to cereal! We started this about a week or so ago. It's coming along, slowly but surely! It's funny how different Cale and Keegyn are (in EVERY way). With Cale, he would cry cuz we couldn't possibly shovel the food in fast enough...with Keegyn, she cries cuz she really doesn't want to eat it...she much prefers her bottle! But we're getting there!
Here she is right before her first "solid" meal!

Happy enough!
She loved chewing on the spoon...wasn't too fond of what was on that spoon!

Cale and Keegyn now bathe together whenever possible to save time. Granted, I know this can't go on forever...but I'm gonna milk it for as long as I possibly can!

And...it goes EVEN faster when Cale helps me wash Keegyn's hair!

We make almost daily trips to the park these days it seems. Cale can't get enough of swinging....

...and neither can my little pumpkin....

Keegyn has now mastered the fine art of sitting unattended, however, will she do it for very long? Ummmm, that would be a BIG FAT NO!!!
I love my little girl to death, don't get me wrong....but she needs her mommy's attention more than water is needed in the desert....and I'm not kidding!!! I was soooooooooo looking forward to the day of being able to place her on the floor, surrounded by all her favorite toys, and then be able to get some things done around the house...maybe even go to the bathroom...alone. And you know it's bad when even Cale won't keep her company anymore! He's good for about 5 minutes and then by that time, he's run out of ideas for entertainment and resorts to comments I know he's only heard me say about 10 times a day...such as.."Keegyn, you can't be held all the time!"
Yes, such is life at our household! Some days I still feel like pulling out every single hair on my head or going for a walk by myself leaving the kids to fend for themselves (don't worry, I just said I "feel" like it...I would never do it!), but those days are very few and far between....and all the moments pictured below well make up for any of those frustrating "pull out you hair" kind of days!

Cale got his very first Chicago Bears helmet...thanks to Grandma and Grandpa T! It was Jason's old helmet...with all the scuff marks to prove it! Cale will soon be adding his own scuffs to the helmet, I imagine. He's already done a few headers into the floor while running with it on....still a bit top heavy!!!

See, it looks like she's having so much fun...sitting and playing with her toys....but it's deceiving cuz she's only all smiles cuz I'm sitting right there next to her....and Lord help me if I should turn my attention to her brother for one single moment!

....but Cale is still so patient with her...she's very lucky to have him!

....again...looks like she's having the time of her life.....

Cale was sooooooo proud of this big Thomas picture he colored at daycare the other day. He has it hanging on the shelf in his room.

Love my little man!!

Even though Cale loves his new bedroom, he still thinks its fun to hang out in his old stomping grounds once in awhile. This was one of the times where he didn't mind keeping Keegyn company.
Just lounging....telling Keegyn a story....

Mellow time over...Cale decides to get things a little more exciting....you can only guess what is on his mind as he's holding onto that blanket like a weapon....poor Keegyn senses it too....she knows she hasn't a chance....I can only imagine her thinking "don't you dare, Cale"

...oh but of course, he did dare.....and poor little Keegyn just sat there quietly waiting for him to remove the dang blanket and be on his merry way!

We made a trip to the park this weekend...just me and kids. Daddy was busy washing the cars and I desperately needed to get out of the house...so off we went! Thank God Cale is so independant now...it would have been a lot harder watching two of them so closely if he wasn't such a big boy! He loves climbing this ladder....must have done it at least 10-15 times...but mixed it up each time with what slide he would go down...the twisty one vs. the tunnel one!

Here he comes down the tunnel slide....boy them shorts are really adding speed...I think he was a bit nervous how this little adventure was going to end...but he caught himself at the end and landed just fine!

Sun was a bit too bright for picture taking.!

SWINGING

Enjoying more time outdoors!
